      As I have gotten older I have thought about some questions I should have asked my mom but didn’t. And now she is not here to ask. What do you wish you knew about your people that you have to try to figure out on your own?

        I was so young when my grandmother passed. I found correspondence that my aunt and my grandmother had – all in Hungarian. I wished I had asked either one about Hungarian connections. Also the letters, may have held some information. But it wasn’t meant to be

          I grew up in Youngstown!

          I don’t think one thinks to ask the questions until they are older. At least that was my situation!

            We still have our grandparents immigration documents and their citizenship papers. We were so young when they passed away, but now would like to know how they decided to come to America and why they moved from Youngstown, Ohio to Cleveland, Ohio. But, we never thought about these things when we were so young. We had no idea what the future held.

              My grandparents immigrated in the early 1900’s. I wonder how they traveled from their villages to the seaport where they boarded a ship – details of the journey on the ship – their impressions upon arrival at Ellis Island since I doubt that any of my grandparents had ever been to a big city like New York. And so many other questions…
